   Butterflies Room news

September in Butterflies has been as busy month. We started the month with national read a book day where we listened to the story of Stick Man. We visited the local park to gather some sticks and whilst there we enjoyed playing on the swings and slides. We then created our own versions of Stick Man, when we come back to the nursery.

We also decorated plates with our names with the letter of our first name on for International literacy day.

Our theme for the September has been, All about me‟. We started off by drawing around a volunteer, which the children then painted using different colours, they even added a face.

We then painted our hands and feet and drew items that we like.

We also learnt about the different parts of our body and labeled up the silhouette of the volunteer.

With Charlotte, our chef, we have been using our math skills to weigh out different ingredients to make cookies, Jam tarts and gingerbread biscuits. They where yummy!

   Ladybirds Room news

This month we said goodbye to the last of our preschool children who have ventured off to new challenges at primary school.

We started the month off with read a book day. Ladybirds enjoyed looking at a variety of books. They choose the “Gruffalo” as their main book of the week and we created lots of different activities to go with the book.

We used mud from the garden as paint and to decorate our very own Gruffalo masks.

Monkey Puzzle turns 5!

Ladybirds had great fun celebrating Monkey Puzzle‟s 5th birthday. The children created their own birthday cakes out of different shapes; this helped them with their sticking skills, shape recognition and numbers.
We also had a party at the nursery and had lots of yummy party food, which went down a treat!
